Revolved Half Moon Pose

Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana (Revolved Half Moon Pose) is a step further than the classic position of the Ardha Chandrasana. At first glance, it has essentially the same effects on human health, but the internal organs in the abdomen are massaged and the hips are stretched better.

This position is certainly one of the most challenging positions for balance as in addition to standing on one leg it contains a large rotational component of the whole body with contralateral movements of the limbs.

How to do it (step-by-step)

1. Start in Mountain Pose and go into Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend Pose).

2. Extend your right arm and place it in front of the left foot. Straighten the left leg and raise the right leg off the floor. Open the chest toward the left and stretch the left arm upward. Twist your torso more to the left, and keep balance on the right arm.

3. Turn the head up and gaze at the tips of the left fingers. Breathe deeply and evenly.

4. To get out of this pose, put your left hand to the floor, bend the left knee and lower the right foot. Come back to Mountain Pose, then repeat on the other side.
